When I first started out, I had this list of around a thousand people that I had built up through solo ads.

I won’t bore you with the nitty-gritty details of solo ads, but honestly, I think they’re one of the lousiest sources of traffic out there.

Sure, they’re handy for growing a list, but when it comes to building a decent and engaged one, they fall short.

The only list you’ll be able to build with solo ads will be a churn and burn one…but I had no clue on how to monetize such a list at that time.

So my list of about a thousand people, which I had painstakingly assembled through solo ads, was not delivering the results I had hoped for.

I took the plunge and decided to promote my first affiliate product on WarriorPlus. It was a modest $9.95 product.

I sent out several emails to my list, but guess what? Not a single sale was made. Zilch, Nothing, Nada.

I didn’t give up though. I sent a couple more emails, and finally managed to secure five sales of that $9.95 product, which meant I earned a total of around $50 with the full commissions.

But then, I saw the leader board, and guess who was missing from it? Yours truly.

I distinctly remember a few names near the very top: Marlon Sanders, James Scholes and John Thornhill. They were racking up all these sales, and there I was, wondering why I couldn’t achieve the same.

But here’s the real kicker…I did spent around $900 to build that list and none of those buyers went for the up-sells.

So, my earnings stopped at $50 and I was a whopping $850 in the red. Talk about disappointment, right?

After a few more unsuccessful attempts at affiliate promotions, I came to a harsh realization. It was all my fault. My list was simply terrible.

The truth was, those guys on top of the leader boards had all the skills and knowledge that I didn’t have at that time. They had valuable experience, but above all, they had an audience.

Now, let’s fast forward to today. I’m pretty darn confident that I could compete with those guys because I do things differently from most people.

Now, let’s talk about how I’ve built my audience. One major part of it is my YouTube channel.

You know, what’s amazing about YouTube is that people feel like they know you, like you’re their friend, even though they’ve never actually met you in person.

Now, I get it. Not everyone is keen on appearing in videos, but personally, I’m totally fine with it.

Another crucial element is my blog . It’s another significant part of my audience-building strategy.

And last but not least I have an email list.

It’s mostly made up of folks who discovered me through my videos or blog. Anyone who encounters me and joins my list has an interest in the make money online niche.

I’m really invested in engaging with the people on my email list, and I make sure to reply personally to anyone who reaches out with a problem or question.

No one gets ignored. I make it a point to respond to everyone who emails me.

But here’s the thing: having a list alone doesn’t automatically mean you have an audience. Engagement is key. If you’re just spamming your list, they’ll never truly become a genuine audience.

And hey, if you find something lacking or if you feel the sales funnel is too overwhelming, the price is too steep, or one of the upsells isn’t up to par, speak up about it.

Leave Nothing Out When You Make A Product Review

When it comes to the product, make sure to really talk about it and give them a solid presentation.

Cover all the bases, my friend. Share the flaws, the pros, the cons, the pricing, the upgrades – basically everything they need to know.

You want to be their one-stop-shop for information, so they don’t have to go hunting elsewhere.

Your goal is to have all the details ready and waiting for people.

But here’s the thing: you’re not trying to shove it down their throats and scream, “This is the best thing ever!”

Because guess what? That’s exactly what all those other clowns are doing.

Instead, you’re taking a different approach. You’re saying, “Hey, this is a product. Here’s what it is, here’s what it does. Let me show you.

And guess what? It’s priced at xx. If you’re interested, I’ve got an awesome bonus to sweeten the deal.”

Simple, straightforward, and no-nonsense. That’s how you do it and they’ll appreciate your honesty and trust you more because of it.

Offer A Bonus To Persuade People To Buy

Let’s talk about the next important thing: offering a bonus.

You know how it goes when we promote a product as an affiliate – lots of people go on the hunt for bonuses.

Now, personally, I don’t think every product needs a bonus, but the truth is you gotta have one because everyone else is offering them.

But here’s the thing, my friend: you don’t wanna fall into the trap of going overboard with your bonus.

I mean, some folks out there will throw in 25 plugins or 50 PLR items or whatever, and let’s be real, that’s just way too much.

No one really needs all that stuff. It’s just gonna end up gathering dust and taking up space.

So, when it comes to your bonus, keep it valuable but also keep it focused. Quality over quantity, my friend.
